This site discusses the issue. I am not sure where the financial payroll data falls.

Remember Daco you have to know what you are asking for or they will only give you exactly what you ask for. One commissioner had to push to get the information he wanted and actually threaten to file a suit for them.

RE: Websites banned by Anderson County
Who needs Days of our Lives when we have Anderson County Government? It never ceases to amaze me how this continues to go on and on. Do these people not realize that they work for the citizens of the county and the commission? I have heard some stories about this insurance that makes my hair stand on end. The employees are paying outrageous premiums for their health care and the whole system is rumored to being mismanaged by the people who run it. At the meeting they said they were going to look into the insurance in great depth. If only half of what I am hearing is true heads should roll. Anyone who would use their employees for personal gain should not be employed. Now, I am not saying any of this is true but I surely would be investigating if I were county commission..

Bull Moose:

Have we heard anymore about the Internet Nazi? Will all sites be banned or will they take the firewall off the selected ones they banned? Having sites banned because of your disagreement with someone's political views is childish and petty. It almost borders on censorship.

Ivy,

I'd bet you a pretty penny that the site(s) aren't blocked on the computers of the Lord Mayor or the Minister of Finance!

Maybe next they'll have a book burning on the Courthouse lawn!

I wake up in the morning looking for a cross burning in my front yard. That will be next.

At http://www.citizennetmom.com there is some breaking news. She has gotten word that the county has been unblocked. That is news but the real news is it has been picked up around the state and now everyone knows how juvenile the powers in play truly are. Boy, did this make the lord mayor and his entourage look silly. The ability to look at a sight where a county employee is gaining personally from it is ridiculous. Wonder what will happen tomorrow as this soap opera continues.

That post was also picked up by Kleinheider at VolunteerVoters as well as Silence at Knoxnews, so if we're blocked again, it'll probably attract significant negative publicity for the County from media across the state.

PI:

Agreed this whole saga has been a soap opera. They surely should have more important things to do with their time. Looking like fools comes so naturally to them.

RE: Websites banned by Anderson County
Just received a call that the lord mayor is responding on political blogs today. Go to http://www.myerspolitics.com and check out the time. Either the lord mayor did not come to work (which is a good possibility) or he is not blocked at the courthouse like all his employees are. I guess he has special privileges. He also posted on WYSH during work hours.
