Today something very interesting was brought to my attention. As everyone is aware there was an employee working for the county and CHUMP who was arrested for dealing drugs to the prisioners. I learned today that Steve Murphy, who was working for CHUMP, has moved on to bigger and better things in the Sheriff's Department. A replacement has been hired and he operates off a hardship license. The only reason I know of that someone operates off a hardship license is that it has been taken away for DUI or something of that nature. You receive a license to go to work but are not allowed to drive for any other reason. My question is, do we take them through the court system and find them guilty and then employ them? This has to give the employees a sense of security knowing that they have convicted people working amongst them. I wonder if County Commission is aware that this is the caliber of person Building and Grants is hiring. Scary isn't it???
You have got to be kidding. What is going on at that courthouse. It sounds worse than a Soap Opera. Why doesn't someone do something about all this? Where are our commissioners that we elect to uphold our best interests? It is not in my best interest to employ people who have had run ins with the law.
