Leon Houston and his attorneys have made a joke of the judicial system...Two years and just one is going on trial...Already I see the rationale emerging for a mistrial:

From today's KNS: "Not every witness reported for court. Logan, the defense attorney, told the judge he's trying to track down two witnesses who have disappeared."

Well, that sounds ideal. Sheriff Joe has cost the taxpayers $41.4 million in defending law suits. Sounds economical to me.

Point if your KNS quote is?

"Even if you don't give a hummingbird's heinie about how prisoners are treated in Joe's gulags, you should at least care that such cases vacuum moolah out of your wallet. Well, unless you're a complete Arpaio-suckup."

At least, Joe's inmates are punished...I wish he were sherriff here...

So are the law abiding citizens that must put up with his unnecessary bills. If you have ever been in a jail you will find they are not pleasant in any form. But, you wouldn't know that part of life. Try visiting with a prisoner on a church mission.

Maybe we should just have concentration camps and take them to the gas chamber. That is a civilized way of life. We have problems in this country with bleeding hearts who do not believe in execution.

Askywhy: Now that probation is handled by PSI or the State we do not have the problems we used to. If you would have asked me awhile ago where the money went it would have have been hard to explain.

JustMe:

We did have a judge who put people on probation for financial gain but that has been stopped thanks to a lot of citizens asking questions and the lord mayor not being able to answer them. Instead he dissolved the previous probation department, which was run by a certain sleeze in the county, to avoid a full all out investigation. Judge Elledge is the only criminal judge in this area. He is NOT a bleeding heart and I take offense to the comment when you are clueless about the system. Judge Scott preceeded him and also was NOT a bleeding heart. His only problem was he had to deal with Jim Ramsey and Jan Hicks who were bleeding hearts. Let me rephrase that. They were lazy and did not pursue cases. Then of course we have the Public Defenders office (one of which we almost had as DA) and they are true bleeding hearts. If I remember correctly Tom Marshall was quoted in the Courier as saying he has not met but a handful of criminals in his tenure. Wow, he must see things through rose colored glasses. Before you make attacks on the system understand how it operates and who is in the positions.
The best education you can receive is to contact Judge Elledge's office and find out when criminal week is. Sit in on a Monday or Friday for arraignments. Sit in on a criminal trial. Learn how it works. On most criminal trials there is a jury and they make the findings. Now, the judge sentences but can only do it within the limits of the law. I sat in on a murder trial, a child abuse trial and a rape trial. Boy, was it an eye opener. I learned a whole heck of a lot. Try it before you discuss it and know how it works. Know where the power is in the courtroom. Most of the time, it is with the jury not the judge.
I just take offense to you period.
Your so easy. You really need to get control of your frustration level.
Yep, who are you? Only ORHS73 has that right. You can't compare intellectually.

As far as our date, I am much too selective and am way out of your league. You're not man enough to handle me.
PI,
Just Me cannot stay on subject long enough for your vines to take growth. He is wishy-washier than JK's flip-flops. You need a man who will take a stand, more like Emile Autouri.

Who is JK?

Where is Emile anyway? He can have the next dance.

Come on, JM. Put a little thought into it....wishy...washy.....flip.....flops? Someone who changes their mind like the wind changes directions? Kind of like you? Do you really think Emile dances?

Surely not with JustMe. Emile is into twister.
