"you said that the existing laws didn't prohibit them from having guns for self-defense which it obviously did."
No, it didn't, but we've already had this discussion before and you steadfastly refuse to understand English, so I won't bother with this again.
"I bet I probably make about as much money in engineering as you do doing whatever it is that you claim to do, but feel free to keep lying about that also."
So do you moonlight as an engineer or in law enforcement?
"Let me speak slowly "
I'm sure you do.
"Obviously, since most deployments are less than 2 years, an individual soldier may not have been there the entire time."
So you agree with me that "None of our soldiers are living continuously in tents for years." Good job, AW.
"you will be playing with yourself."
Oh please make it so.
"I don't need to belittle others to feel good about myself."
Heh. And yet you belittle Obama, Democrats, liberals and pretty much everyone else you don't agree with. I have no idea whether it helps you feel good about yourself, but you do it consistently.
"If you actually want to rationally discuss your differing views about any topic I am all for it."
Since your comprehension of written English and your ability to write what you say you mean is so limited and inconsistent, I don't much evidence of rationality in your posts.
"If all you want to do is play some passive-agressive word games to demonstrate your overly high opinion of yourself, you will be playing with yourself."
Projecting much, AW?
"Taking offense at someone calling you a liberal or dem says more about you since it implies that you think being called a liberal or a dem is a slur."
LOL! You still don't get it. You routinely attack and mock democrats and liberals. You are the one who treats these terms as a slur.
"Are you ashamed of your views?"
Uh, no. Why should I be?
" but many libs seem to feel that way"
What a wonderful imagination you have, AW!
"How's the weather out there?"
Hot.
"You guys about to dry out?"
Till the next time.
Uh, we do JM. However, you can't see or hear them completely for the shouting down of cons like AW.

On the otherhand looking back at those definitions, it's actually good to stand for something.
"2. (often cap.) noting or pertaining to a political party advocating measures of progressive political reform. "
So, you disagree with this definition?
"Most run away from any lib label "
I think labels are silly and childish. However, if I had to use a label, I'd call myself a conservative. Here's why:
I believe in meritocracy. I believe that education is the way to get ahead. I believe that hard work should pay off.
I have worked all my adult life. I save more than I spend. I pay my debts on time. I pay my taxes.
I vote in every election. I believe in democracy.
I've been married to my first wife for nearly 31 years.
I am a proud father in a two-parent family.
I believe in the value of work and that able-bodied adults should work for a living. Accordingly, I believe all women, beginning with my wife, should have a job outside the home.
I believe the government should stay out of the private lives of its citizens, as long as their behavior harms no one but themselves.
I believe that drug and alcohol abuse, as well as tobacco use, is unhealthy and should be avoided. I believe that alcohol, tobacco and marijuana should be legal.
I believe that prostitution and sexual promiscuity are vices and should be avoided. I believe abortion, artificial birth control and homosexual activity should be legal.
I support the privatization of religion and of marriage. I believe that anyone should be free to practice their religion, so long as it does not interfere with others. I believe that governments should not offer tax exemptions to churches and should not recognize "marriage" in any other sense than civil unions for matters of visitation rights, inheritance rights and legal benefits.
I believe in freedom of speech, as long as it does not pose an immediate harm to others (e.g., crying "fire" in a crowded theater). I believe pornography that involves consenting adults should be legal.
I believe the US should be the greatest country in the world. Accordingly, I believe in universal health care, public education, public libraries and public transportation.
I believe in the value of a good education and critical thinking. Accordingly, I believe in the laws of thermodynamics, the laws of planetary motion, plate tectonics, atomic theory and evolution. Similarly, I believe in peak oil and global warming, and I believe in a role for government in mitigating the impact of these realities on society.
I am a capitalist. I recognize that the environment that creates opportunity to accumulate wealth only occurs because we all agree to play by certain rules. There can be no capital without self-sacrifice and the aggregation of labor. Thus, I understand the the government has a role to play in assuring that workers are treated fairly.
I believe in fairness. Accordingly, I believe in progressive taxation, where those who have the most money shoulder a greater proportion of paying for civil society than those with the least money.
"The very tenats [sic] of Darwin's theory of natural selection and evolution argue against society taking money from the haves and giving to the weak...A person can not honestly be for both.."
This is hilarious! The person who wrote it obviously has never read Darwin and understands neither natural selection nor evolution.
As long as we can remove thosr earnest or having the least who spend ANY of their money on liquor, drugs, cigarettes, or lottery tickets before buying food, etc...Society has no obligation to help people who waste money on vices...
Ah! Social Darwinism in its simplest form. Thought you didn't believe in evolution JM? Yet you rely on the theory in social policy. Wow!
"Tell me though, why should I work long hours to pay for someone's addiction and gambling habit...Tell me."
I give up. Why?
