When you were a little boy in the early '80s, I was getting 18% on my money market account. That's not even out of control. Out of control is Weimar Germany. Go read up on your history, kiddo.

73, as you know I was born in the same year you were so we were wetting our pants at the same time. I'll make you a deal. You work with the school system in St. Louis and I'll work with Oak Ridge's. The way I see it, you have no horse in this race.

Seriously, isn't there some forum in the entire state of Missouri that you can go impart your wisdom on? How about letting us tend to our own pew - we've got some pretty serious issues to address and your interjections add nothing to the discussion. As you've made pretty clear, we are beneath you doc, so why do you even bother?

Thanks for your interest in me, Trina, but this thread isn't about me. Please stop trying to make it about me.

5% annual increases in expenditures are hardly outrageous or "out of control." Do you have any serious insights into the basis for this relatively modest growth pattern that would add to the discussion?

You are right. It is not about you. Would you stop making it about you. You were the one that got nasty talking wetting one's pants, etc. This is not your classroom. Please go away on this topic.

Expenditures by anyone or any group that does not have funds is out of control.

"Expenditures by anyone or any group that does not have funds is out of control."

So from 1999 to 2009, the city didn't have the funds to cover an average annual growth rate of ca. 5%? The city of Oak Ridge has been in chronic fiscal deficit for the past 10 years? Really?

If so, then things are out of control. If not, calling 5% annual growth "out of control" is exaggerating.

There you still go making this thread about you. If it is not about you then why do you get posting?

The city of Oak Ridge has spent more than they have. Don't just look at the budget. We have an enormous bond debt.
"If it is not about you then why do you get posting?"

Poor Mike. This sentence isn't even English.

I'll type this slowly for you.

The fact that a person posts doesn't mean that the subject of their post is themselves.

I'm sorry this is so hard for you. Maybe if you knew enough about the topic to discuss it, you wouldn't find it necessary to change the subject.
I love your flattery. If I were not busy working with my charity tonight I would stick around for a conversation. Take care.
"I love your flattery."

Hey, no problem, Mike. While I wouldn't find it flattering to have this sort of thing explained to me, if it makes you feel better, I'm glad I could help!

It's swell that being "busy" means you stay constantly linked to this site.

heh.
The power of the Blackberry, Doc. It's why I don't have one.
