While dropping Man-Cub off today for his first day, I was very pleased to see the extraordinary job done in the lobby of Linden Elementary by the PTA. The newly painted doors (in Linden Lion Red, of course), the new chairs and re-finished tables, the new signage.

Most impressive is the art wall facing the entrance. This first quarter has a "life sciences" theme, with the five varieties of life (bacterial, lichen, fungi, flora and fauna) shown in large prints.

Beneath the prints are ceramic tiles with student artwork -- the results of one of last spring's PTA fundraisers. "Silver Graphics" digitized student artwork (some as large as 11"x17") and printed them on the tiles, which the Building and Grounds Committee of the Linden PTA then mounted on the wall.

It looks OUTSTANDING!! Congratulations to everyone at Linden who helped make this a reality!
Linden has a lot going for it. I saw the new music teacher at the concert in the park Saturday night with her young family; she's full of enthusiasm, and the kids are going to love her.

I'll have to get over there this week and see the new wall of art. My kitchen is still decorated with artwork that came home from Linden -- even the peices belonging to my older two, now in college.
