Today is the dedication of our new high school -- the ceremony starts at 3, in the auditorium. All of Oak Ridge had a hand in making this happen, from the referendum to fund it (approved with a staggering 78%) to the citizen design committees, to the many who contributed to the foundation. Everyone is invited.

Following the dedication ceremony, tours of the school will be offered to the public. I hope to see you there!
HOOT HOOT This has been long coming. Congrats are in order. Good work ORSB and OR Administration.
Planning to be there. It is a proud moment for the community.
I just finished getting a tour and words can not describe it. It is as if the jewel has been put back into the crown.
Former school board member Tracy Larabee caught me in the hall and told me he'd found a problem: all the clocks are synchronized. How are the students supposed to be able to get away with being tardy if all the clocks show the same time?

Heh. Those clocks had been messed up since the 70's... if not longer.
Wow! What a wonderful, wonderful school! Everything I saw was just spectacular - the auditorium, dressing rooms for the stage, the music rooms, the science labs, the media center, the computer labs for every department, the art center.

It is incredible. This is something this community should truly be proud of - from the way it was funded to the final product, it is awesome!

If you haven't had a chance to tour it, make time to do so.

Netmom, Dan DiGregorio and other school board members if you're reading, GOOD JOB! For anyone who made a contribution to the project either personally or through your company, THANK YOU.

This high school is proof that when we work together toward a common goal, anything is possible. I hope we can remember that and work together for more good things in this community (and yes, I'm in a Pollyanna mood today).
How could you do that to the students? Was a new school worth that? You have screwed up their excuses. Thanks a lot.

Not only that, but the "Donor Wall" clock in the main lobby (the "Astrolabe") is even synchronized with the other clocks. Truly an extraordinary integration of art and engineering!

Our new school is proof that if we all get on the same page and work together, we can accomplish incredible things. Oak Ridge was founded on that basis, and we've just shown that we can still do it if we're really focused on a goal.
And I think you have all proven that. Congrats on a job well done.
