There was a terrible wreck on the west end of the turnpike this morning. The Sentinel reports that it was a head-on collision between a car and a Food Lion truck; I saw Lifestar coming in.
Anyone know more?
Saw that. I now know it wasn't my husband or my parents (we were all on the road about that time). Based on the condition of the road right in front of McArthur Animal Hospital, I'm guessing that's where it happened. Still don't know why or who, though. Maybe the 'Ridger will publish it sometime next week.
Treated and released... fortunately, no one was killed. Bonus: a car thief was arrested. Careful out there, folks; those two lanes are mighty narrow when people get in too big a hurry.

You're not kidding. I was travelling east on the Tpke and stopped to turn left onto Salem Road. The stupid "young adult" behind me - who had been tailgating me the whole way - tried to go around me on the right, thru the orange barrels. What a weenie head!
Guess I should be a little more specific... the young man behind me didn't actually go around the barrels, but started to. That's when I made my left turn and he changed his mind and continued in the correct lane, but not before honking his displeasure at me that he actually had to, you know, drive the speed limit and (OMG!!!) apply his brakes. Still a weenie head in my playbook.
