Has anyone been following this saga? Tank, what is your take on it?
Pacman and Vick are both spoiled little boys that pursue fame and fortune for the sake of fame and fortune and to use it to get out of trouble. One day, the system will tire of this behavior and tackle PM for a loss and sack Vick. Both should be uncerimonously drummed out of the game as a deterance to others that would act in like manner.
Let me begin by saying I am not much on professional sports, but watch a little NFL. Free agency, the thug mentality and several other factors soured me on the whole thing long ago.

As for the Pacman thing, it's obvious that he has maintained his circle of friends throughout and hasn't grown as a person. He has taken a great opportunity and wasted it, now being a name synonomous with negative behavior. But ... he will get to play again because he has talent. Will I choose to watch him? Nah.

Some people are just bad, I think he is one of those people and while it would be nice to give him the benefit of the doubt, after about the 10th charge, I got the message.

Mike Vick, that situation is terrible. I would never think that animal cruelty is as bad as say child abuse, but it's still a sick thing that the indictment said took place.
Each day seems to bring a new embarrasment to professional sports. Now we have the ref from the NBA betting on games he was officiating. We need to clean up Porfessional sports because these people are role models to our children. When we were little we wanted to be firemen and nurses our children want to be Michael Jordan. Pete Rose was banned from the game of baseball for less than these people have done. Money has become the motivation instead of image. We have lost sight of what is important.
I much prefer a Hemingwayesque Bull-Fight, where the Bull has a fighting chance. Look what happened to Monolete'!
I've been to a couple of bull fights Emile. The bull doesn't stand a chance. It is a grotesque display of just how ugly humans can be toward animals. No sport in it at all. If the bullfighter had any balls at all there would be no picadors, banderilleros or horses in the ring. That would be a real bullfight.
I agree DACO, but at least the bull has a bit of a chance
No, they really don't, but the bull is the only one in the ring with any balls.
I know this is sort of a hijack of the thread, but professional sports right now is really looking bad. Football has Michael Vick and Pacman; baseball has the steroids/Barry Bonds issue; and now the NBA has the rogue official (I forget his name). I absolutely love professional sports - at least football and baseball - but I've come to believe there is just too much money involved and it is being thrown at people who are just too young to deal with it. There are some very respectable people in professional sports. And many of the younger athletes would eventually evolve into pretty decent people in different circumstances. But when you give a 25-year old guy millions of dollars and just turn him loose, many - maybe even most - are going to do some pretty stupid things. And when you have all that money, it's rare that you're actually accountable for most of the stupid things you do.

yes, the bull has a chance. Don't you know the story of Monolete'? He died of a gorge to the groin.
