...a good, reputable tree service? Thanks!
Craig Bjelland - he runs an ad in the Oak Ridger all the time. Reputable guy, former cop, does a great job and his prices are as competitive as they come. He's done a good number of jobs for us at over 1/2 the cost of what others have quoted.

He's hard to get sometimes, though. Leave a message but don't be surprised if it takes a few weeks for him to get back to you. But he's worth it.
I'll second that. He's terrific.
Craig is good.
Me too -- but I've never had to wait very long for him to get back to me. He's taken down a couple of big pines that were obscenely close to my house, without a hitch.
Have used him on more than one occassion and have been very satisfied.
Thank you all for your help, I really appreciate it! I will give him a call.
How about asphalt/driveway/seal coating recommendations? We've got some serious issues with our driveway/retaining wall and can use all the help we can get. Hey, feel free to share your own success or nightmare stories.
If it just needs resealed go to Sears and get Sears best. If it is going to have to be patched and recoated call J. G. Mullins off of Dutch Valley Road. He is reasonable and does good work. He is an Oak Ridger.
Trina:

We also have an asphalt driveway which we seal religiously each year. After about 15 years of living in our home the resealing didn't work anymore. The cracks were starting to chip and the side retaining walls holding up the driveway started to give way. It was time to dig it up and start all over. I also used Gary Mullins, J. G. Mullins. He gave me the lowest estimate and did a good job. He did a lot of work at the Boys Club parking lot and the OR Country Club parking lot. The new driveway is now 8 years old and holding up well but we have relgiously seal it every year.
