Anyone who has ever eaten Vernon Long's Bar B Que knows it the the best you have ever put in your mouth. On Saturday, August 9, 2008 Vernon will be doing two free barbeques. From 11-2 he will be at Norris Square and from 5-8 at Marlow Community Park. Then on August 16, 2008 from 5-8 he will be at the Marina in Oak Ridge behind the China Palace. He will be serving BBQ sandwich, chips and a drink. This is FREE, yes, FREE to thank the people of Anderson County for their support. WAY TO GO VERNON!!!! Thank you for giving back to the community.

Perhaps "the bunch" can look to head to the marina on the 16th - YEAH!! Another excuse to get out in the heat!!! LOL

I've only had the pleasure of eating his BBQ two or three times but I emphasize the word "pleasure". It's some of the best!

JM, this is the South. Using the terms "BBQ" and "Abba" in the same sentence is sacreligious and an abomination. 
Southern BBQ and Abba don't mix. Good Southern BBQ should only be served with good ol' 70's Southern Rock like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Charlie Daniels, the Allman Brothers, Molly Hatchet, ZZTop, .38 Special, Black Oak Arkansas, etc. Or better yet, with the UT Pride of the Southland Band playing "Rocky Top."
