I heard this afternoon that Anderson County Elections Administrator JoAnn Garrett has retired (or is retiring).

Unlike her predecessor, Ms. Garrett is fair, courteous, and helpful to all, regardless of office or party affiliation. While no one is perfect, I believe that she strove to be fair and helpful in all regards.

I wonder who her replacement will be. Jim Hackworth will have a great deal of say in the appointment. Any suggestions?

No one has stepped forward yet, but there are a lot of good names floating out there. The salary is low to start but if I understand it correctly, raises up once you are certified. With all the controversy that office has had, it will interesting to see who steps forward.
