"You are obviously not an oil expert either. So you are telling us that increasing our domestic production a couple billion barrels a day has no effect on the price of oil"
WTF? When is our domestic oil production scheduled to produce 2 billion barrels a day? If the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is opened for drilling for oil in 2008, the estimated peak production would yield, at most, 1.45 *million* barrels a day in 2028. Where, exactly, did you think that the other 1.855 billion were going to come from?
Current oil consumption worldwide is 82,234,918 bbl/day.

"but your heroes just stated the other day that the saudis increasing their output by half a billion barrels would affect the price? "
You have no idea who my "heroes" are or even if I have "heroes." You just make stuff up, don't you, AW?
"And you don't think reducing our oil needs by 40% makes any difference?"
Yes, of course. I just know it ain't gonna happen by drilling. It will happen by conservation, my simple friend.
"I think the technical stuff just goes over your head. Just threatening to start producing drop the price of oil two days in a row."
ROTFLMAO! You have no clue, do you? You probably also think that St. Ronnie single-handedly brought down the USSR! Must be nice living in such a naive world!
"You do realize that alternative energy such as wind and solar can't supply the base load that we need?"
Of course. That's why I keep repeating the word "conservation" over and over. What part of the word "conservation" don't you understand, little AW?
"You must not have paid much attention to any economics classes on supply and demand which clearly teach that either increasing the supply or decreasing demand affect the price."
Heh. No. I just stayed awake for the section you slept through--the part about inelastic demand. When you explain how the demand of China and India are going away, come back and we can talk, little boy.
