At www. oakridger.com the CHUMP is pushing a four day work week. Let's get real here. he and the lord mayor haven't worked a 4 or 5 day work week since they made their debut at the courthouse, and the dishonorable and his side kick (body guard) already do not work on Fridays. Now let's talk about the savings. He must not have talked to all the offices in the courthouse regarding this. I would assume that not only the Sheriff's Dept. and EMS but that the court systems would also have to stay open. If this is so, the courthouse would have to be open. You would have to have coverage and you could not cut operating costs if you are still paying to maintain the courhouse as far as utilities etc. are concerned. This is another lame brain idea by the CHUMP. He must need another day to run his BAR.
Maybe he'll want to make Friday's a day off so he can hold an all day "happy hour" on bourbon sales!
I'm pretty sure that state offices are open five days a week (except for all of those holidays)....please AW, correct me if I'm wrong here.
County employees are civil servants. They answer to the taxpayer. This affects many more people than the employees. Lawyers offices would have to go to a four day work week as would probation and all other state offices that are support to the courts. Then of course taxpayers would not be able to pay taxes, get licenses etc. on Fridays. Jurors would have to make arrangements for their children where now most of them are home by the end of the school day. I just DO NOT see how this is workable and a money saver. Maybe they need to think of a way to save money for employees by not raising their insurance etc. They don't seem to care about those issues. Stupidity seems to spread amongst this group. They don't think things through, they do things off the cuff. Here they are giving away money left and right and crying with a loaf of bread under their arms. Time for new leadership.
