The fair is in full swing. Vernon Long is there selling BarBQue with his new rig. A simple pleasure for all to enjoy. Booths are available for visiting. You have both political parties, NRA with their banner, many churches, Pro-Life, some insurance companies, Beautify Anderson County and always you can be amused by Bear Stephenson. It is amusing just to people watch. The lord mayor made his grand entrance glad handing for his up coming election. Wonder if the CHUMP will be there. Jim Hackworth was there and for a first his so called opposition made his debut in the Republican Party booth. There is something for everyone so get a brochure and spend a night at the fair. If you are a senior you can spend Thursday afternoon there and I am sure they will be having their ice cream social. Lots of hard work has gone into the fair so support your county.
Who is his "so called opposition?"
Who is his "so called opposition?"
I personally met Jim Hackworth's opposition and I can not remember his name. He hasn't lived here long enough to know his way around town without a map, has no idea what issues matter to us, is running "for" nothing and "against" everything, and has no discernible job history except a short stint in the military from which he was discharged. Jim knows this county, knows what is important to us and gets the job done, even if I disagreed with his vote for house speaker; I will be voting for him again.
It's worth the trip for Vernon's BBQ.
Responsible voting is the issue not party lines. If you vote responsibly for our area you cannot vote any other way than for Jim Hackworth. This Mosly guy has not a clue about Oak Ridge, Anderson County etc. I think he is from Sweetwater or somewhere that way. He needs to run there or maybe he has and been defeated there. Get real Askwhy the guy is clueless.
JustMe:
I have a dear friend who is a rep and asked after reading this forum, why do the nuts represent us. I told him/her to get on here and show that not all rep are as narrow minded as you are. There are good rep and good dems out there. The problem is people like you give them a bad name. I have voted cross party lines many times because the candidate running for the other party was the best choice. You are unable to see the forest through the trees. Start another thread but this was about the fair and what a good thing it is for our community.
The Lord Mayor is still trying to figure out if he will do a dunking booth appearance this year. I know at least 20 people (self included) that would gladly hold him under the water after he gets dunked. You know....maybe just for a few minutes.
Or maybe longer. If you look harder I bet you can find hundreds maybe even thousands. That could be a great money maker for the fair.
