Yes, I know Ellen thinks it will be a hair salon, but conventional wisdom says it will be a Pilot station.

I have been told that Council can reconsider this if two things happen:

1. The suspend the rules which say an issue must wait 6 mo before coming up (councils and commissions do this fairly frequently).
2. Someone from the prevailing side (meaning Hayes, Mosby or Smith) would have to ask that the motion be reconsidered.

Seems to me that if enough people put the pressure on one of those folks, it should be reconsidered just to be fair. Since they voted when Hensley was attending his son's concert, they really didn't give him the opportunity to voice his opinion.

So, let them (or him, since I think we all know who's most likely to see this as the right thing to do) hear your voice.
It really won't matter, the city council is made up mostly of real estate agents. If they don't have an interest in the property they will make sure no one else will either
"...the city council is made up mostly of real estate agents."

That isn't true. To my knowledge, there is one licensed real estate agent on council.
You're correct, 9Ballchamp. Jane Miller is in public relations at Y-12, Ellen Smith is an environmental scientist at ORNL, David Mosby is an engineer at Y-12, Golden is in the Anderson County probation office (now contracted), Charlie Hensley is a retired engineer, and Tom Hayes is a retired school principal. Each council member has a profile on the council web page.

Klear12, what would make you say such a thing? It's so far from the truth that one can't even write it off as a simple mistake.
I meant that that a lot of them have ties to real estate agents in one form or another
Yes. He's the lone licensed realtor that 9BC noted. He retired from State Farm last year, and decided to try his hand at real estate. I expect he'll be quite good at it, particularly with his passion for Oak Ridge and enthusiasm for showing it off to newcomers.
I would still like an explanation from klear12. "...the city council is made up mostly of real estate agents."
Give me a break.
Frankly I'm sick and tired of being lied to by politicians, pundits and joe sixpack.

I'm sure they do. I will wager each have purchased or sold a house in their lifetime.

If not, maybe they rented or mowed a lawn or something...
