Has anyone else noticed that our local paper...you know the one...the one locally owned and operated, has begun putting videos of local happenings on their website?
If you go to
The Oak Ridge Observer and click on "news" you will see a
Why does the Oak Ridger have videos exclusively from somewhere in Massachusetts? Local paper indeed.
This data is made available to the newspapers in the group of which we are a member. I suppose we can ask Chris about how to submit local videos.
I understand where they come from and why. I was merely pointing out one more reason why the Oak Ridger isn't much of a
"local" newspaper.
Well they are certainly in transition as their new web site shows. I have no idea what they plan for that section of the page. Replace it with something else? Contribute our own material? Throw in advertising there? Leave it as it is?
I do like their new web site more. And their stories are more local than not. I think they are a pretty effective local daily even if they do publish John Job's "There's a Red behind every bush!" tirades like they did today. It just adds some local humor onto the editorial page.
"I think they are a pretty effective local daily even if they do publish John Job's "There's a Red behind every bush!" tirades like they did today."
Ah Cracker, they probably just publish Job's babble to offset the hate America first wingnuts that rant on their nearly defunct forum. Present company excluded, of course.
Hey 9BallChamp,
Thanks for the plug, and for the kind words. Just wanted to alert you and others that we've now put up footage from yesterday's heated meeting about the Applewood Apts. You can find it
here.
Thanks.

Thanks Stan. Very interesting meeting. Looks like ole Joe is still bobbing and weaving and blames his own employees for the condition of the buildings in question.
BTW, thanks for the videos feature on your website. Nice addition to both your site and your community presence.
Wikipedia should have the definition of "slum lord" as being: Joe Levitt
I can't believe he stood there and clearly acknowledged that this has "been going on for years" and then throws his employees (of years) out to the dogs.
He really believes that a coat of paint is the solution.
Do we need a petition to get rid of these dilapidated buildings?
No the city council need to get some gonads and use imminent domain on both applewood & that joke of a mall
