So, what is the "proper" way to file a formal complaint against a school bus driver?

Yesterday morning, I got together with some friends of mine at the local Burger King for a quick cup of Joe. We went in at about 7:20am. One of the guys commented about the "school bus" parked on the street behind BK (it's not like there's any children to wait on there). I went out at 7:30am to get my cellphone. I noticed the bus was still sitting there...engine running. Yeah, the bus was empty except for the driver who was "texting" on her cellphone. When we were heading out to the parking lot at 7:45am, she was still there - still texting - still running that engine. At least 25 minutes of running that big azz bus can't be cheap by any means. There weren't any children to pick up from the BK or hospital that I could see.

Big question here is JUST WHERE IS SHE GETTING FREE GAS? And of course WHERE DO I SIGN UP FOR THAT JOB? Come on, we all take an extra break here and there at work, but this is wasting $4.00+ a gallon and getting paid for doing nothing at its finest.

Sorry girlfriend, but I'm gonna have to turn you in.
425-1812. The Transportation Supervisor is Clifford Bunch; Ass't Supervisor is Tom Tinnerman. If you got the bus number, that ought to make it pretty easy.

The last day of school for Willowbrook and the Preschool (the two schools on an extended calendar) was June 5. Unless this is a summer school bus, or one of the drivers in training, I'm not at all sure why the bus might be there.

BTW, all the school buses run on diesel fuel, which is closer to $5/gallon now.
It is GENERALLY cheaper to idle a deisel than a gas burner. But given the price difference now, that may be changing but Idleaire did go bankrupt.
That's why we should synchronize them at the speed limit. We get a measure of public safety and the traffic flows.

THIS: http://www.wesh.com/automotive/16556066/detail.html is an article that made me think about waste.

Thanks for the tip NM, I'll be calling it in for sure.

Good for you BS. We need more watch dogs out there, or should I say watch cats.

Well, I called the number provided there NM.

Interesting. Actually, not.

"Cliff" told me that "when the buses leave the station in the morning, they head right out to begin their routes". I questioned how many children are needed to be picked up at the local BK and HOSPITAL that early in the morning.

He went on to explain that only "air-conditioned" buses are used during the summer months too. Hmph. I reminded him that the driver's window was open and the door was open and well, the ENGINE WAS RUNNING.

Mr. Bunch said that gas prices aren't expected to go down anytime soon and I again had to tell him the reason(s) for the complaint.

He's going to check the schedule for big yellow number 1940 and find out what she was doing there for at least 25 minutes of my tax paying time.

I will call back to find the results of his research (which I don't expect to be anything more than another sack of excuses), and will report back later.

Big Grin

Thanks for the courtesy to let me know but I have to ask: Am I supposed to care where you moved it?

BTW, this is much more refreshing than BigBrother's megalomania.

5 buses are currently providing service for summer school at Linden, Robertsville, and Glenwood.
