At http://www.knoxnews.com today's headlines are not shocking. It just took the citizens longer than I thought. We need to contact our local law director and find out the procedure to start the same process.

Anderson has used the process when Scott Manning was Sheriff. It failed.

"Under an alternative procedure, a petition or complaint for ouster may be filed by 10 or
more county citizens, who generally must post security for the costs of the lawsuit.
T.C.A. § 8-47-110. Upon request of the citizens, the attorney general, the district
attorney, or the county attorney must assist the citizens in prosecuting the proceedings.
T.C.A. § 8-47-111."

The posted link did not pull up a specific article so I am unsure what you are referring too...

Try this.

Jacket:

Did it fail? He was not electable after that. I guess you can say it served it's purpose.

Depends upon the reason for the ouster. If legit, it should result in loss of office. If not, it is just pure politics through the judicial system. The evidence has to be there. These Knox folks have one legit gripe, p-cards. That might fly. The rest is bogus. IIRC, they were passed by the electorate in referendum.

I think this is the one she's talking about. Be patient with Ernestine; she's still learning the whole linky-thing.

I am sure if we dig deep enough we will be able to find reasons to file an ouster suit right here in Anderson County. Stay tuned, it might be sooner than you think.
