Is there any, other than the 1958 football team? Do we Oak Ridgers do any sports that the paper will report on itself? Does every sports story in the paper really come from "Staff Reports"?

Oh Tank will write when football starts. There was a great team in the 90's with Shaun Summers, Richard Howard and that group. They won state under Joe Gaddis. They were a great group of kids and a very talented group athletically.

Don't forget Coach Etheridge's spectacular Cross Country teams -- and you will see him at nearly every local running event (even the Elementary School-age "Telefriend Fun Run" a couple weeks ago, where six 1st & 2nd graders ran sub-8:00 miles!).

He did a great job with those kids and Sheppard has done a great job with the two soccer teams. Norris has done good with the Basketball program also. The baseball and softball coaches leave a lot to be desired. With the talent they have had they have not been able to pull the trigger. I would like to see more about these kids in the paper. They carry a big load with maintaining grades and staying competitive in their selected sports. Oh, and let us not forget Prudden who is a legand. She continues to put out talented disciplined teams who handle themselves with class.
