What seems to upset some people here is when I correct their factual errors.
Nope - it's all in your delivery. If you were simply conveying facts, there'd have been no need for this string in the first place. Since none of is without guilt, myself included, I'm willing to set the past aside and start fresh. I'm also open to continued learning from your comments; hopefully you'll display a similar attitude towards the rest of us.

Trina, I don't have any problem with people who make mistakes. I make 'em all the time. If you'll go back and read my posts, you will fail to find a single one in which I claim to be perfect. You may well find posts in which others believe I've made such a claim (including you), but I can't be responsible for the lies others tell about me. And casual inspection will reveal that there have been many, many lies about me and my views. If it bothers you that I don't like being lied about, that's your problem.
If folks here will stop attacking me personally because they don't agree with the evidence that doesn't fit their assumptions, stop creating childish cartoon parodies of my views and learn how to deal when confronted with their assumptions, they might discover what my students and colleagues know about me--I am conservative about facts and care about evidence. But I have no respect for propaganda and bulls***. I didn't get to the top academic rank by making nice, I got there by being right and knowing my s*** when I speak, and learning to shut up when I didn't have the facts.
I love serious argument. I love learning new stuff. I have no respect for those who simply repeat propaganda and refuse to be educated by facts and evidence. I don't suffer fools well. All beliefs are not equal, and are not equally deserving of respect. If you pi** on me, don't be surprised if I pi** back. If you think that my willingness to talk back and call you out on bulls*** is "anger and hostility," that's your neurosis.
Well, I tried. And I'll keep trying. All that I can offer now is a virtual hug.

What you need 73' is a good pr agent. Someone who can take your intellect and superior intelligence and express it in a gracious way. You have a great mind, and I admire your insight into topics on ACT. You just need a little help with the delivery.
