Heh. This is such a cute little post, tucked down here at the bottom.

And we all know that people who disagree with Eric and beaver are bad, bad, bad. And evil. And naughty. And therefore . . . wait for it . . . liberals!

"As far as ORHS 73 - ignore him. He . . . has a operating mode of using arrogant and condescending posts to try to belittle others."

LOL! Pot, kettle, black, etc.

I agree. If you allow him to, '73 will try to steer every thread off course in an attempt to prove to what a brilliant scientific mind he thinks he has. If you ignore him, he may go back over to the 'other' forum where he has like minded competition.

Heh. I see why this is posted in the "playpen." Enjoy yourselves, kids!
By golly, Trina may be on to something when she mentioned demons. Could '73 actually be possessed? ROTFLMAO !!!!!
I used to think this was a place where we could disagree without being disagreeable... obviously, we've become more like the outside world in that regard also.

Although '73 and I disagree often (and have for several years now), he's a good person with a brilliant mind. We are fortunate to share his company, IMO. Eric does bring some new ideas and rational thought to the table, but does have a politician's knack of bringing every subject back to the subject he wants to talk about -- racing.

Yeah, this is the playpen... but it's easy to lose respect for everyone participating in this piling on.

With all due respect, NM, even when he disagrees with you (and a few others like Jacket) ’73 rarely demonstrates the same level of hostility towards you as he does most of the rest of us. He chooses his words with you much more carefully whereas he attempts to patronize others in nearly every response he posts. You know you can relate, but only if you choose to.

I understand where you are coming from NM and I respect your opinion. I cannot say the same for '73 and I'm sure he feels the same way about me and some others. He has crossed the civility line too many times and needlessly.

Just my opinion.

And maybe the rest of us could gain back that respect for ORHS73 if he would lose the "holier than thou" attitude. He can have the most brilliant mind in the world, but no one (except maybe you and a few others who know him personally) is going to pay any attention to his ideas if he can't present them without denigrating others. Does he treat his students, co-workers, his Jesuit employers, friends, and family with this much disrespect when he disagrees with them? Does he treat the people at NIH and NSF with such hostility? God, I hope not.

Yes, I know we all can lash out at each other on occasion. And some of us apologize for our behavior. I wonder if the words "I'm sorry" are even in his vocabulary.

Maybe because we have earned his respect by demonstrating that we understand concepts, have open minds to new concepts, and can do and follow research. Further, we don't patronize him, we have discourse.

Did he outwit you? Did he call you on inaccuracies? You are way out of your league. 73 is brilliant and I have the utmost respect for him even when he corrects my grammer and spelling. My mind is always open to learn and we can learn from each other. Thank you 73 you have taught me a lot.
