I’m sorry to have to start a new thread on such a ridiculous topic, but on The Oak Ridger’s forum, there are several posts about me and The Oak Ridge Observer.
Deciding the record needed to be corrected, I tried to register to defend myself on their forum. I attempted to register under my own name – Stan Mitchell – and from my work e-mail address: smitchell@oakridgeobserver.com. I merely wanted to defend the accusations, not promote my paper.
Yet, they declined to approve my registration, without saying why. This is upsetting, but seems to follow a trend, in my opinion, regarding the operation of their forums. Regardless, I want to make sure the record gets corrected and a friend of mine suggested I post a reply on here.
Besides the petty comments, here is the comment I feel I must respond to, posted by “Rook”: “Its not Stan that wears the big shoes at the weekly - its Robin Biloski. She's one of the primary owners and calls the shots.”
This is completely false and absolutely absurd. Robin is a part-time employee who sells advertising. While she and her husband are indeed an investor in the company – one of 11 other investors, all of whom only own 4% shares of the company – I am the majority owner and I have absolute and complete editorial control.
