I was in one of the "mall" stores yesterday, and a friend who works there told me that demolition is supposedly set for next week (or was it next month?). There is said to be an agreement to put some kind of "big box" store right behind Wal-Mart, sort of where the Proffitt's for Men was.

There's no word on what that "big box" might be, except that it's NOT Target. Has anyone else heard something about this? I so hope it's true -- but at this point, I can't believe anything is happening there until I see it.
I'm with you on this one NM. I too, will believe it when I see it. Maybe Arnsdorf and friends have robbed a bank somewhere~smile~.
I'm not sure how involved Arnsdorff is at this point. Seems like Core Properties has been doing most of the talking for the past year.
You might try checking with your local building inspector or whomever issues building permits. You can't do demolition or build a new big box without the permit. Last time I checked this is public information.
They do have a demolition permit.
Big Lots and Doomsday Food Outlet are combining to bring us: "Big Lots of Dooomsaday Food Outlet Superstore"

Core Properties has learned to not seek any more permits until they are ready to roll. I, too, have heard that we will soon see some action, but do not have a definite date.

It's certainly NOT a Best Buy; they're about to build one in Turkey Creek.
Perhaps it'll be a Joanns Fabric store? All the crochet and nitters gatta get their supply from somewhere now!
