According to our good friend over at the AtomicTumor, there may be a price change for the Oak Ridge Observer on the horizon.

What thinkest thou?
There are a lot of people who have been sick of the Oak Ridger for quite some time. (Just today they repeated a front page article they'd already run a few weeks ago). I like both, but rarely pay for either. Well, I never pay for the Observer, but really should out of principal. And, as much as I wish he'd go online with it, not doing so may very well work to his advantage in this particular town.

I don't know the numbers, but Stan has amassed a good number of subscribers. I'll definitely become one if they start charging - as long as they stick to a weekly format. I hate to amass newspapers and have a hard time throwing one out if I haven't read it all the way through.

Good luck, Stan!
Trina, you can subscribe now and they deliver it to your house each Thursday. I know it's free at newsstands, but it's convenient to have it delivered (and supports a good local paper).

You were saying?
Just renewed my subscription today.
I renewed my Oak Ridger Observer home delivery subscription today. $40 for one year. Also there is an option to renew six months for $20. I urge you to buy it if you can afford it to help ensure they can stay in business. Remember what it was like before the Observer started.

Sorry for the confusion there Big Bro, I was cross commenting with the comment that Snidelywhiplash was making (Post: #13RE: Hand Job - B.S., i don't remember your name being on the moderator list. You remind me of the pushy church ladies that would always try to position themselves high in the pecking order)

In kinder words, I planned on subscribing right away. And have!

Picked up a copy of The OR Observer (8/28 edition) today and enjoyed reading the column "You might be an Oak Ridger if..." found on page 5. I didn't understand one item, tho, and was hoping maybe someone on here can explain this one to me:

"You refer to the 'sign Nazi' with pride."

Who (or what) is the "sign Nazi"?
I don't know what that's all about, but I'm thinking that somebody's got some 'splainin to do.
