Ok, help me see the "big picture" if you will....

A new restaurant/grill/bar comes to town. They take over what was once known as the Bleu Hound Grill....

Chump's makes a huge announcement that they will be open Monday thru Sunday from 11am to 2am (I believe). They will be serving burgers, appetizers and Italian food at their fine establishment which includes a sports bar atmosphere - beer and foosball table included.

Then they figure out that they aren't getting the crowd they expected. People aren't eating as much as they budgeted for. The place stinks of stale beer and the tables remain dirty till opening the next day (should they even open per the times posted). I've heard nothing good about it, so I'll admit that I've never been inside.

High school football comes to town, and the crowd they expect shows. The football team travels, and it's dead there. The stench of stale beer gets worse.

Suddenly, a paper sign appears on the door saying that they are open from 9pm to 2am. Hmm. I'm doing the short math here. Perhaps the food sucks like I've heard.

Now I hear that they'll be open from 5pm to 2am. Perhaps to have a "happy hour" for those who don't care to shop for loved ones during the holiday season? Perhaps the golf course is shortening their hours to closing by sundown? Do we really need a watering hole, on a side street tucked away from the passing traffic near a residential neighborhood?

Perhaps Chief can enlighten us on the odd ball schedule. Afterall, he's there often enough to have earned a key and part ownership.
Would you say it is safe to assume that CHUMPS is a DUMP? Did we expect any differant? It seems like it has become a local hangout or should I say clubhouse for the drunks and probies. I bet if you got the license plates of the patrons you would find that to be true.
"probies"

I assume that is a reference to rookie fire fighters? Why would they be hanging out there?

And "clubhouse for the drunks" may be a little redundant. It is a bar after all.
Daco, I think "probies" is probably a reference to people on probation, since the proprietor has a known relationship in that arena.
Oh come on folks.. It's thanksgiving... Lighten up and let Beauchamp enjoy turkey and dressing ~smile~ You can get back to bashing him on Friday.
Not bashing KR, just trying to understand.

What are you "trying to understand"? Pretty simple the guy just aint a business man like he thought he was and is looking to save his business.

Supply, demand, and management will decide if they can stay open.
And management determines hours of operation and cleanliness of the establishment.
Yes, you are correct.
