I'm not computer literate enough to know what an ".rtf" file is, so I didn't open it when my computer asked for permission...

Blowin' Smoke... care to give a recap of the OK info, or assurances that opening the file won't crash and/or horribly infect my system? Thanks!
rich text format.
Whatever it is...my computer is still working.
It's really nothing new. Its just that the good folks in Oklahoma want the current laws governing illegal aliens to be enforced.
Can't say I blame them.

(Bring on the xenophobe insults.)

Sorry, didn't think that some people might not be able to open the file (which IS from a safe site), but here's the jist of things:

The law reads:

The State of Oklahoma finds that illegal immigration is causing economic hardship and lawlessness in this state and that illegal immigration is encouraged by public agencies within this state that provide public benefits without verifying immigration status. The State of Oklahoma further finds that illegal immigrants have been harbored and sheltered in this state and encouraged to reside in this state through the issuance of identification cards that are issued without verifying immigration status, and that these practices impede and obstruct the enforcement of federal immigration law, undermine the security of our borders, and impermissibly restrict the privileges and immunities of the citizens of Oklahoma. Therefore, the people of the State of Oklahoma declare that it is a compelling public interest of this state to discourage illegal immigration by requiring all agencies within this state to fully cooperate with federal immigration authorities in the enforcement of federal immigration laws. The State of Oklahoma also finds that other measures are necessary to ensure the integrity of various governmental programs and services.

About time someone had the guts to do something.
Not trying to be a smart a$$ but "Good Luck".
I agree with what they are saying and give them my full backing but I am sure somebody out there will find a way to make them cave in (like take Federal Money) and get them to back off.
There are legal complications to their approach. Efforts in the past have crossed the line and this one may too. We will have to wait and see.
Hope they can find somebody to do all the jobs "Americans" don't want to do...
As long as they are legal.
AT the reason that legal citizens don't line up for many of the jobs that you are referring to is because the employers pay such low wages. The reason that they pay such low wages is because they know that there is an infinite pool of illegal workers that will take the jobs.
As long as our government, starting with this president, turn a blind eye to this problem and ignore their responsibility to the citizens of this country then those that employ undocumented workers will continue to enjoy virtually legal slavery and the profits that come with cheap labor.
