Wow Loud-N-Proud-- thatsa latta money! (Sorry, couldn't resist!)
That would be a bit more then I could afford on a monthly basis, and if I could I'd still prefer to buy a place. (For that much monthly I should be buying the place- not renting it.) at $2k/mo, that'd be $24k/yr, more then I make before taxes at my current day job, and as much as I'd like to think my art would sell for enough to cover such an expense I'd have a hard time believing it (although some of what I want to make is large, I still cant fathom making a living off it.) As I said, I'm more into creating art then selling it.

The above might give you an idea as to why I'm looking for a place I could fix up; I'm not rich and I certainly can't afford the costs some want to rent places for; for the cost of renting a house, I could buy one at the same monthly expense, if not less.
As to sharing a space... well, you know the old term "Starving artist"? Most the artist I know either have to have a day job as well and don't have the extra cash to go into a place, or they don't keep a job and I don't want to have to try to come up with the money because someone else isn't able to keep up their end. (It's an issue I've had to deal with before on other things and don't want to have to go through it again.)
My ideal art studio is the guard shack that hasn't been fixed up yet; it's perfect in that I could repair and restore it and set up the inside to my own specifications (though I don't want to change much of anything in it, I like the structure the way it is), and it's by a road so what art I want seen would be visible, and the structures appearance is right up my alley with some of what I'm wanting to create!
I've been trying to get it for over a year now; I contacted the prior owners who were in the middle of selling Commerce park, which it was part of, and they wouldn't tell me anything till it sold. By the time I did get to the right person I found it had been given away "for free" with the land it is on when the land was sold to a church who has since been debating (for a year) if they want to fix it up and use as extra office space, or fix it up and rent it out very cheap, or who knows what. I say give it to me and let me spend the money repairing it and they can use what they save to help build their new church; that way it can be repaired and restored quicker and be in use almost daily!!!
(As is my "art studio" is a 126sqft rectangle and most of that is being used for storage. Can't create all these ideas when I've not got the room to do it in!)
What kind of art do I create? Depends on which form I am creating it in. As to what you're inquiring from the prior post, they're large scale sculptures made of various materials, depending on the project, and some are meant to inspire when seen while others are meant to provoke an emotional reaction or idea in people. While I'd love to give an example of the latter, doing so would give the idea away and would cause it to fail in provoking the reaction its intended for. As to the former, a simple example is a large scale carnivorous bird (hawk, eagle, falcon) that stands around 9' tall. Certainly an eye catcher, but definitely not a lawn ornament. ;p
I'm also going to get into small scale video production; nothing movie-esque at this time, but several short and sweet videos (maybe 5-15 minutes) on multiple subjects that I've had my mind on. As of now with the limited space I have the only thing I can really work on is 3D artwork (Currently working on an animation.) Some of my prior art can be found here:
