When I was pregnant a wise woman told me everything I did was leading through example with my child. A TRUE Christian leads through example. They walk the walk not talk the talk. A true politician leads through example. Look at the signs popping up in our fair city. The letters received said JUNE 17 is the first day for signs. These people who are putting out their signs are showing us just what kind of leaders they are. Their example is that the rules do not apply to them. We have all of Beauchamp's candidates exploiting the rules. Shuey, Farrar, Moseley, Wells, Bouchard, Fleishman, and of course our mayor Lynch. Think of this when you vote. If they do not abide by the rules in something as simple as signs then when do the rules apply to them?
I noticed Brenda Short (D) has signs all over. Isn't she the candidate that was photographed with Bubba?

I have seen several Lynch signs in town.
Yep, she was and that was a joke. She wouldn't get my vote. I think I saw a Cagle sign out also.
Saw a Whitey Hitchcock sign out, as well as one for David Bolling. Does anyone play by the rules?
It will be interesting which ones are picked up by the sign police in Oak Ridge. They have been known to pick up signs that are placed prior to the date allowed.

Come to think of it...maybe I'll just drive the pick-up around and collect the trash until Wednesday evening.
Hoped that niether of them had put them out as they were also told not to. I also hope that the sign police would pick them all up on the weekend and charge the overtime to the people who have the signs out. Maybe then people will play by the rules. They are put into effect for a reason.
The City of Oak Ridge sent the letter to every candidate and the restrictions include yards also. The signs are not allowed within the city limits until the appropriate date. I have not seen a Bolling sign but do not question Opus, if she said she saw one I am sure she did. Probably someone who took a sign at a function and does not know the rules. The signs are being put up all over the neighborhoods by the crew used by Beauchamp. I personally watched them go up for Jimmy Bouchard illegally. Clinton has their restrictions also which is violated on the weekends. Signs go up illegally in the right of ways Friday Night and are taken down Sunday Night. If the signs are outside the city limits then the county rules apply.
Haven't been out of the city limits in over a week. And I see these two signs (along w/ one Fleishman sign IIRC) everyday. They are in people's yards. I think a new one (can't remember whose it is) has popped up down the street from me. Maybe it's like E says... homeowners who aren't aware of the rule. I'd like to think that, anyway. Wishful thinking on my part? Rolleyes
It's very likely that homeowners aren't aware of the rule, so it's a better idea for the candidates to take the names of people who want yard signs, and not give them out until the day they're allowed to go up. I hope they've all budgeted a day or two to take up the signs after the election too, since it definitely looks like clutter by August.
