Bad sportsmanship on the field or off, is not acceptable. Especially between coaches. I completely understand how the excitement of the game can take rational individuals into a tizzy, as I am a former coach and have found myself in such situations. We do not know if the Oak Ridge coach did anything wrong, and I will reserve judgement until the situation plays out.

Man, do I feel sorry for you,(if this is the way you really feel) and I sure hope your not out coaching anywhere. This line of thinking lowers all the levels of any sport, defies the purpose of the game and sets a bad standard for our children.

But Witchypoo, if you didn't see what happened -- up close -- how do you know who was bad?

I don't want to be misunderstood. I am not suggesting that Coach Stevens did anything improper. I am saying that if he did...reemphasize IF, then swift justice should be applied.
I will be patient for the results of an investigation.

I did not say anyone was bad. And you did not answer my question. Is the faculty going to be held accountable to the same standards that the students are subjected to? When is self-defense justifiable? You posed the question about the clinton coach being in stanton's personal space and, hypothetically speaking (because you did not see this as well), how it would be understandable that stanton may have shoved him to get him out of his face. All that is written here is speculation, about any given situation, unless we are discussing a personal situation. But if we do not speculate, what will we talk about? And I do not think we need to apologize for the speculation of what is reported in the news.

I don't think so. I once saw Witchypoo smack the snot out of a rugby player more than twice her size just for snoring... I might be out of my league.

Besides, what kind of example would that set for our young and impressionable coaches?
