Oh no! And he never got to sing "Rocky Top" all night long after beating the Gators!

I don't think he planned it this way. It was in the gamble that Hamilton took when he hired Coach Kiffin. He was actually the fifth choice of USC. Kiffin did give it his all here.
At any rate, excuse the vernacular but we are screwed!

I guess this is a bad time of year to ask this question. Woke up this morning to 19 and checked LA at 58. I don't think coaches should be allowed to make decisions in the winter when the weather could be a factor. Heh Heh

Doubt if the weather had much to do with it.... money and ego more likely, but it sure leaves us in a mell of a hess. Life goes on...

No huge loss, IMO. He may be a pretty good coach someday when he matures a little.

By the looks of some of the comments over on the KNS site and others, you'd think this was the end of the world. Come on people, that won't happen for another two years!

Even more disturbing than the news that Kiffin is leaving after only a year, was substantiated reports of coaches calling some of the new recruits and telling them not to go to (the first day of) classes at UT today, because they've got an offer at USC.
That's beyond low, unless he's committed to only taking players likely to be arrested in the next four years. He can have those.
The real damage is that Kiffin hadn't even finished building up the recruiting, so now someone new has to come in and essentially start over, late in the game. That puts us another two years behind in building the team we'd like to have.

I noticed several comments on the KNS site that said "Al Davis was right."
For the uninformed (i.e., me)... who is Al Davis and what is it he's supposed to be right about?

Don't know, but here are some comments on the recruiting fiasco.
