Interesting house on the market. Isn't this Dr. Bailey's address? Makes you wonder why it is for sale. I am sure there is a very logical explanation, especially since the school board just extended his contract.
I think you are right. He is not going anywhere, unfortunately. He knows when he is well off. With the new extention, I suspect he is upgrading to an even more upscale habitat. This probably signals that he will be trading in his taxpayor supplied wheels for something more suitable. But as one posted on here, he deserves it!!!

That's his listed on the front on the Real Estate Market insert? Listed at $481,000? Dang.
Or maybe he's looking to downsize? Perhaps one of those condos off Lafayette (more centrally located to the schools and SAB)?
We just closed on our house in that neighborhood a couple weeks ago. Mid-400s are not uncommon in that neighborhood, esp. if the market is on the upswing. Unfortunately for us, we timed our arrival near the crest of the wave and our departure at the trough.....
I think deichmans has the right idea.
But will he move within Oak Ridge city limits?
I guess that will be his call as long as he stays within the rules whatever they are at the time he makes his decision. With a suppressed market it could be a long time. Either way, it is not our business. He will have to make decisions as to what is best for his family.

His contract states that he must live within the city limits so long as he continues in his position.

Yes... Stupid he is not. To move outside of OR would create a firestorm that not even he could survive.

I don't know what the most recent version states, but previous versions state that he must "reside" in ORS boundaries. That could allow for him to merely rent here and own elsewhere. Were there any edits to that particular line item this year?
Coach D - care to share what prompted your inquiry into the residency policy recently?
