Last night, I talked to a young family who are moving into Oak Ridge. Guess what the number one complaint was? No good places to shop, and they wanted to know what was up with our mall. They went down there, and thought it was some type of awful joke, or that there had been a bomb threat. Only a few seniors walking around. The big mall push was in 2002. Does anyone know the current timetable foe completion? This is really getting embarassing to our city.

That reminds me of this. While you are there, you might want to check out the winning entry of the FOR Secret City Film Festival.

There was also another film presented at festival that interviewed a bunch of folks at the Mall, but it didn't seem to make it to YouTube. I remember a lady doctor considering moving here and wondering what the deal was. She had noticed all the "metal cages" around the stores. Very attractive!!

The mall will be re-done when the City (that's us) gives Steve Arnsdorf $23.5 million to do it. Until then, nothing much will change.

It's called "Greenmail".
